WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SWIMMING POOL PROJECT
Preconstruction
- Customer does pre-visit checklist - 9’ wide access to worksite 
- Access permission from neighboring yard if required 
- Determine if there's any easements or covenants preventing pool installation 
- If underground utilities are believed to interfere with pool construction, call 811 to locate 
 
- Site visit meeting 
- Proposal emailed to Customer 
- 1st payment/contract signature to get on Construction List 
- Order pool kit and issue permits 
- Plumber installs waste line in house/Electrician stubs out power 
Construction
- Second locate if necessary 
- Move in machinery/trailer/supplies (driveway stall needed during construction) 
- Level pool area and excavate hole 
- Install and level pool walls 
- 2nd payment due 
- Pump concrete footing 
- Install plumbing/lighting/coping 
- Pressure test plumbing lines and call for inspection 
- Shape bottom and pour PoolKrete 
- Install filtration equipment 
- Electrician wire equipment 
- Plumber connects gas to heater 
- Backfill pool and rough grade yard 
- Meeting with homeowner to discuss concrete placement 
- Move out machinery/trailer/supplies 
- 3rd payment due 
- Concrete formed 
- Pool bonded and call for inspection 
- Concrete Poured 
- Liner installed and start filling with water 
Postconstruction
- Pool Owner orientation 
- Final payment due 
- Customer arranges landscaping, sprinkler repair, fencing, fine grading/sod repair 
- Customer registers products 
- Customer calls for final inspection after fencing/barrier requirements installed 
- READY TO SWIM! 
The Construction Process
Getting approval from HOA
- Customer communicates with HOA. If a site illustration is requested, we will provide the necessary information 
Necessary Permits
- Construction Permit – We will pull 
- Electrician Permit – Licensed electrician needs to pull 
- Plumbing Permit – Licensed plumber needs to pull 
Timeline of Construction
- Pool construction: 2-3 weeks 
- Concrete decking: 1 week per pour 
- Sprinkler repair: Couple days 
- Landscaping (retaining walls, softscape/hardscape, sod): 1-3 weeks 
- Fence: 2 week 
This is the typical pool timeline. Weather and unforeseen obstacles may affect schedule. During the construction process we regularly inform the customer what will be completed for the day/week. Mentally plan for your yard to be torn up for 2 months and just remember it must get worse before it gets better!
Necessary Inspections
- Plumbing: Inspect inside waste-line and 25 psi on underground plumbing (Plumber) 
- Bonding: Inspect bonding of all metal components 3 ft. around pool (Electrician) 
- Electrical: Inspect electrical panel and wiring (Electrician) 
- Final Build: Inspect completed backyard (Homeowner)
